In Sierra Leone, rice is the primary food. It can be prepared many different ways by just adding different sauces or even chicken bones. The chicken bones are considered a delicacy, due to the brittleness of the bones make it easy access to get to the marrow inside the bone. Many Sierra Leoneans like to indulge in a refreshing drink with their meal, known as Ginger Beer. Ginger beer is a non-alcoholic beverage made out of 100% ginger, mixed with a hint of sugar. Last but not least, Kola nuts. Kola nuts are very prominent and only used in for special occasions. It’s used as a stimulant, high in caffeine concentrate. It can also be used as clothing dye.
