Religion In Sierra Leone

Sierra Leone is estimated to have 60% Muslim, 20% to 30% Christans, and 5% to 10% of other Traditional African beliefs. Muslims are traditionally located in the northern part of the country and Christans are traditionally located in the southern part of the country. Sierra Leone is ranked as one of the most religiously tolerant nations in the world. Muslims and Christians collaborate and interact with each other peacefully. The constitution of Sierra Leone provides for freedom of religion and the government generally protects this right and does not tolerate its abuse. However, religious violence is very rare in this country.
This Picture shows a Muslim community leader joined in the singing of songs about Jesus during a meeting to organize for the water well project, which shows the interaction between Muslims and Christans is very peaceful.

  2. It's interesting that they are so separated in regards to where they live, but good that they can keep the peace between them.

  3. It's good to see that Muslims and Christians can interact peacefully. If we all could take something from that and influence the rest of the world to become peaceful.
